At its heart, AirAware is a student-led initiative that hopes to examine how awareness, accessibility, and community participation can play a role in reducing the everyday impact of air pollution on vulnerable communities in Delhi. Built around the understanding that environmental conditions are closely connected to public health and wellbeing, our goal is to explore practical ways of making pollution-related information and mitigation strategies more accessible to families, schools, and local organisations.
In its early stages, the initiative plans to develop a set of interconnected resources and activities, including family and child-focused informational pamphlets, a mini-guide outlining pollution-mitigation practices for businesses and residential complexes, and a research-based white paper examining past literature and suggesting new-age measures. Alongside this, the project also hopes to organise a fundraiser that supports the distribution of resources such as air purifiers, and establish a pledge-based network encouraging organisations and residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices now and for the future.
